Shandong Ludao: Reduce Calender Mark Defects

Calender mark is periodic surface defect generated in paper calendering finishing process. Uneven calender roller pressure, tiny roller surface scratches, impurity adhesion and inconsistent paper moisture will form regular strip marks, press marks and matte lines on finished paper surface. These fixed marks damage paper surface flatness and gloss, cause uneven ink absorption during printing, lead to color difference and pattern distortion, and directly downgrade high-gloss printing paper and coated paper grade. To eliminate calender marks, most paper mills polish rollers repeatedly, reduce calendering speed and adjust pressure parameters, which lowers production efficiency, increases roller wear loss, and cannot solve mark recurrence fundamentally. Long-term calender mark defects will raise trimming waste rate, reduce finished product yield, and bring continuous after-sales quality risks for high-precision paper products. Shandong Ludao Energy Technology Co., Ltd. launches targeted calender mark elimination solutions. By homogenizing paper whole-page moisture, optimizing surface compression uniformity, and reducing micro-impurity adhesion on roller surfaces, we avoid periodic pressure indentation and surface scratch marks. The solution does not need to reduce calendering speed, protects roller service life, improves paper surface smoothness consistency, eliminates strip press marks, and stabilizes high-gloss finishing quality of finished paper.
